Ultrasound for Joint Injections
The rheumatology physicians at Medical Specialists are the first rheumatologists in NW Indiana to use ultrasound for joint injections. This is a technique where sound waves are used to help facilitate visualization of the needle during joint and tendon injections. In addition, it can also be helpful in diagnosing muscle tears and inflammation in the joints. The ultrasound itself is safe and reduces discomfort the patient may have as well as making the procedure more effective.
